Ivalo Flying Service started operations in 1988 in Ivalo. Harri Lairikkala took over the company in 2001 from the now retired company founder Reino Huhtamella.

Harri registered the company as Ltd and expanded the operations to Sevettijärvi and Inari.
Ivalo Flying Service Ltd values are safety, accountability and environmental responsibility. We do not take any risks in our flying operations. The safety of our passengers is always our first priority. Our professional pilots fly customers to their destinations in time, weather permitting.
Environmental issues are under our special focus in our bases and particularly in the fragile wilderness. There must not be any effluents from our planes. Similarly we encourage, or demand, our customers not to spoil the nature. It is so easy to bring all the rubbish from wilderness by air.
